Jake Gyllenhaal is certainly scoring some big-time boyfriend brownie points with new girlfriend Taylor Swift.

After recently introducing her to his family, the 29-year-old actor took even more steps to impress his new lady love.

Jake splashed out on a whopping $11,000 guitar for the country music star.

The grand gesture was for Taylor's milestone moment, as she had her 21st birthday this Monday.

And it wasn't just any old guitar; Jake had clearly put a lot of thought into what kind of guitar his country singing girlfriend might want.

As a result, Taylor received a vintage Gretsch guitar signed by country star Chet Atkins from her new man.

Chet Atkins is a legendary American guitarist and record producer who helped create what is known as the ‘Nashville sound’, a smoother form of country music than Taylor is accustomed to.

His name is virtually synonymous with Gretsch guitars, the hollow-body electric guitars that have formed the sound of country music for decades.

According to reports, Jake got the hot hint about the special instrument when Taylor reportedly gushed about Gretsch during a recent trip to Nashville.

While Taylor and Jake have only been dating since October, this is just another sign that things are getting serious between the new couple.

Taylor and Jake also took time out to enjoy each other’s company on the trip.
